The artist reuses a crate found in the skip labelled with stickers crates for Africa.
Transforming it into a space where life can thrive. He relocates soil from its natural
state into a contained box, planted with dandelion, a flower that invokes memory from
the artists childhood, meadow grass and Artemisia annua. (Qinghao). A natural plant
that’s indigenous to China that can thrive in many climates. Its used as malaria
treatment, but not grown locally in Africa. The box will be sent to a location within Africa
as a gift aid where the plant can pollinate providing further aid. It will be exhibited before
shipment as an installation piece. Where the sound of the soil will be re-sounded.
Transporting the exhibition place to a warm bed for growth and reflection. The artist
wants people to pay attention to the decaying state of the earth by listening to
unsounded properties from one of most important elements that the earth has,
soil, which provides the grounds for growth.
